Remember, the 380 Shield EZ is not a striker-fired pistol, it has an internal hammer. It doesn't have a so-called trigger safety as on Glocks, XD's, regular M&Ps. I suspect that's why Smith put the grip safety on it.

Re: M&P®380 SHIELD™ EZ™ Consumer Advisory
The thumb safety on my M&P M2.0 full size is very easy to move. It’s such a common issue that there are instructional videos on how to remove the safety and make the notch deeper to increase the force required to change the position. During training classes I’ve accidentally engaged it while returning to holster, resulting in not getting next shot off.
I suspect S&W has the same notch too small issue with the Shield EZ.

The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager
