45 Compact concealment: Thankyou

#1

Post by Allons »

Thanks, to everyone who gave input on my last thread about a good 45 compact for carrying. I was able to test a lot of weapons last week, I can tell you that the Shield performance center 45 and the Colt Defender were the ones that I was leaning towards. I'm not a 1911 guy or at least I thought I was not, but then I saw the Dan Wesson CCO staring at me even though I could not try it for some reason It was calling my name. Went home watched a couple of videos on that particular model checked prices online and what do you know found one new for 50 dollars more than the cheapest Colt Defender price. You know what happened next: that's right I bought it. Went to the range and fired 100 rounds today and all I can say is WOW!. Want to get about 300 hundred or so rounds in it before I will start carrying it. It worked flawless no issues what so ever. I still want another compact 45 so I'm sure that will be the shield. Once again thanks everyone for your input. Happy camper here :biggrinjester:

Congrats, Allons!!

As a 1911 guy myself, I can tell you with complete honesty that I almost drooled on my keyboard!!!! :cheers2: That's one of the few on my short list!

Next up- a Dillon 550! (at least thats what I did) :biggrinjester:

ETA: That gun is 10X the best Colt Defender I have handled! ;-)

Thanks, Flechero: You're right about the Colt Defender. I mean I only fired one at the range, although it is a good weapon this is better on so many levels. :thumbs2:

Dan Wesson makes a very fine gun. I have a Valor .45.

That's a nice pistol too. Just a bit too big for me though are you using that for concealed carry?

Great choice. DW are about as close as you can get to a custom without spending $2500.00 Plus. I had a ECO and loved it, but bills came due. :banghead:

No, I am not using the DW Valor for EDC. It is just for fun. I carry a Shield .45.

Gun Broker: I'm trying to get a shield now. Not only one but only one at that price as of now.
