1 am shows his girlfriend his gun and accidentally shoots her in the shoulder because he didn't know the gun was loaded. (doesn't say but I assume he also pulled the trigger while it was pointed at her) Sent to a grand jury, not arrested.

As one comment pointed out, police should at least arrest him for stupidity.

I'm just going to guess he was aiming for her face, but he is a bad shot with poor trigger control ( hits down and to the left).
