Thank you all for the reminder of how to act safely. I've always remember the phrase, "Better rude than wrong." I've been in a few situations where I was quite sure an individual was probing for soft spots but of course are innocent until after the crime is committed. This thread is why I am a regular to this forum.

In 22 years I have had 5 late night knocks. 4 ligitamate, 1 scam.

I live in Hurst, this is exactly why I don't want my kids answering the door even if they think it's us.

As others have pointed out, it's not limited to just Hurst. Hopefully the article, and the OP serves as a reminder to remain vigilant in maintaining situational awareness. BGs are depending on targets letting their guard down and not paying attention. I pray you and your's never encounter a situation like the ones reported.
