Selling Personal Reloads?

#1

Post by thatguy »

As I approach retirement age I've considered getting into the reloading ammo business. Does anyone know what I'd have to do to start legally selling to the public? Is there an FFL requirement, where would I shop for insurance, what kind of insurance..etc? :bigear:

My thought is I'd have to load a LOT of ammo to be profitable, say 20,000 rounds per DAY which would require automation such a Camdex or Ammoload but they're an expensive investment. I'd have to start small then work up to the more efficient machines.

Look into what kind of insurance you need and premium cost, assuming you can get such insurance.

You also have to pay the annual ITAR registration fee of $2,500.

Get your insurance through the NRA Business Alliance - specifically: https://mynrainsurance.com/home

Not many other insurance companies will even entertain the notion, and those that do will entertain it only for mucho $$.

Before you jump in over your head look at the market when you can buy new 9mm ammo at $200.00 a 1000 it is had to make a profit 20k rds a day 100 k a week is a lot of product to turn. Components are available don't forget there is a 11% FET on the first sale I have 2 ammo load that I will run about 4000-5000 rds per hr PM if you have any questions
