I'm in the Houston RoadRunner area also, but I prefer the speed test at http://www.pcpitstop.com/internet/bandwidth.asp to the one you suggested. It appears to be a bit more accurate to me. It reports my D/L speed as 7369Kbps (I have RoadRunner Premium at up to 8Mbps).

I'm still looking for FiOS in Spring though...

Ah... I was imagining you running both cable and dsl into one router creating a Super Connection to surf the web... :P

So do you have both of them up and running at the same time? Just wondering how your network is setup. You had a very good idea for someone that works at home. I have looked at working from home for a while now. I will have to remember what you have done.

Here is a speed test that is offered from a site that we host.

I am running 2 or more computers

One that belongs to my client for work.
One that belongs to me for play (and some orginized play).
Other odd computers as needed.

Work computer on one connection. Play computer(s) on the other.

If my work connection goes down, I dig through the pile of junk, computers, and wires, to the back of the routers and move the wires.
