Re: Need new browser today!!
Still having the issue that I had with Firefox regarding reading new posts.
The new post icon is not cleared and brand new posts are not reflected upon returning to the New Posts list.
It requires an additional refresh for that to happen.
Never had that with IE.

IE9 and IE10 are nice, don't let anybody fool ya. Yes, apply patches, but it's not doom and gloom.
Chrome and Firefox are awesome too.
On the PC though, Opera and Safari are total duds. There are days when both those browsers want me to pick up a puppy by the hind legs and swing it at a baby's face.
What do I use? All of them, actually. Every day. In order of frequency of use and preference: Chrome, Firefox, IE9(or 10), Safari, Opera

Rereading her warning, it is actually 57 total patches, not just IE. But I trust her information and this was her advice:OldCannon wrote:IE9 and IE10 are nice, don't let anybody fool ya. Yes, apply patches, but it's not doom and gloom.

However, that's not the most important patch this month. Microsoft revealed that for its monthly Patch Tuesday, which happens next week, it will release patches for 57 (no that isn't a typo) security problems across its range of products.
Even for Microsoft, that's a staggering amount.
The most worrying problem for you is several flaws in Internet Explorer. Until the patches are released, every single version of Internet Explorer - from 6 to 10 - is vulnerable to drive-by hacking attacks.
In other words, all you have to do is visit the wrong site and hackers could slip a virus on your computer without you noticing. It can even bypass your security software.

I use chrome with the ABP (ad blocker) add on, I know alot of people use alot of add ons, but that's the only one I use. it blocks the weird ads on FB and other sites.

FF is probably caching pages when IE was getting a new page every time. I don't use FF any more but you should be able to change the settings somewhere on the about:config page.Mike1951 wrote:Still having the issue that I had with Firefox regarding reading new posts.

Firefox, Opera, Lynx (for the minimalist but fast. Or you could get rid of all problems and expenses at once by moving over to the Linux users! which would be a long term solution!

Not quite. Thunderbird is the next-generation of Eudora, loosely speaking. Qualcomm stopped Eudora dev in 2006 and sponsored the open-source Thunderbird instead.Charles L. Thunderbird is incredibly fast compared to Outlook.
