Tax Question for CPA

#1

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

If a corporation/landlord donates space to a 501(c)3 Club, can the corporation take a tax deduction for the rental value of the donated space?

Thanks,
Chas.

My tax CPA wife says "I don't see why not " , but that you should google it.
Gun control is like stopping drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to drive.

Any gift-in-kind contribution given to a recognized 501c3 charity by a corporation is generally deductible. The deduction taken for the fair market lease value of the property by the corporation may subject to a 10% of taxable income limitation.
If the 501c3 is a Pro Second Amendment charity, they should just donate the whole building :coolgleamA:

Not this one; it's not for anything related to guns. It may indirectly help the shooting sports, but it's not part of the 501(c)(3)'s charter.
