I'm convinced nobody really cares about actual security in voting equipment. By "nobody" I mean any government official. The systems we use are hideous and very vulnerable.

The Obama administration on Friday afternoon announced that it has designated the country’s election infrastructure as ‘critical,’ a move that brings added federal protections to voting systems.
A good first step is requiring ID to vote, meeting at least the ID standards required by TSA/FAA.
