EDIT: On 4/6/18 My status on the DPS website updated to all check marks save the background check and print pending.... Getting close!

Did DPS send you an email acknowledging receipt of documents and if so, how long after submittal?

I received an email the day (3/26) after I submitted the documents online. I didn't receive any further emails afterwards. I logged into the website about 2 days after I did fingerprints and it said to allow up to 60 days.

03/26/18: LTC100 & DL copies uploaded
03/26/18: DPS email stating they have received supporting documents.
03/27/18: DPS website no longer says *application received* or gives any application status for that matter.
04/02/18: Fingerprints sent and still no application status update.

hopefully they update it soon... I'd like to see the progress.

47 days into my wait, I get a DPS letter saying they need ALL court documents regarding 2 arrests I reported to them initially. 1 from 1988 and 1 from 1991...both were dismissed and 1 was expunged as well. I have the expunction documents for the Assault Deadly Weapon charge from 1991 but I don't think they will accept that as "full court documents" somehow. The other charge was when I was 18 (47 now) and was arrested with $10 worth of marijuana...this was dismissed but I have no paperwork. I looked online through Bexar county courts, Tx and all I can find on the Assault charge is under "John Doe" but has my lawyer's name and correct dates, judge etc., as it was expunged, duh! I can't find any information on either arrest online, even though i have the cause #s.

Question 1.) Is there a free way to get these court documents online?

Question 2.) Why does the stupid possession of marijuana 0-2 oz. charge, 30 years ago, even have anything to do with this?

you will need to go the courthouse where the charges were filed and ask them for a copy of the final deposition of the cases involved ..if they have no record you will need to send a letter from them to the dps stating that there are no records on theses cases...i had to do the same on a dwi case from 30 yrs ago

I've seen others who completed the class and app submission the same weekend as I did and they've already cleared background review and some even rec'd ltc in the mail... I realize there is a 60day window, but this wait is a killer...
I work FOR the State of Texas, my background check should be a breeze....
