Having a drug allergy reaction

Re: Having a drug allergy reaction
Ditto for the prednisone dose pack. Same thing happened to me with a new anti-inflammatory prescribed for my knees. Head to toe rash and horrible itching. I had a follow up appt with my dermatologist for something else and he gave me the dose pack. Itching and rash gone within 24 hours. I will send up some prayers for your recovery!

Re: Having a drug allergy reaction
Thanks everybody for the prayers. By tonight, the rash is still there all over my body, but the itching seems to have diminished somewhat. I did notice the photosensitivity. That sun is about twice as bright as normal. I have a dark pair of prescription Raybans with polarized lenses, and they didn't seem that dark today when I had to go outside for a bit.

Re: Having a drug allergy reaction
Hi Tracy, I'm doing quite a bit better; thank you for asking. I still have the flushed skin on my chest, and my sides, back, and lower legs are still polka-dotted, but the itching is for the most part gone. If I stand in the sun too long, it starts to itch, but the rest of the time it is OK.

well....you know what the doc says when you say "it hurts when I do this"?, "don't do that!" stay out of the sun for a few more days
I'm so glad you're starting to feel better, I bet the rash start looking better by tomorrow.
I'll keep you in my prayers.
