Need Prayer Warriors for S-I-L's Trip to Uganda

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Need Prayer Warriors for S-I-L's Trip to Uganda

#1

Post by puma guy »

My son in law is leaving for Uganda tomorrow to accompany and assist his friend and assistant church pastor to complete the adoption of a child there. They will be traveling ten hours by road from Kampala to reach the the village where the boy is now. He (my S-I-L) is also trying to facilitate the drilling of a well in the village. There is a school and orphanage nearby where they are supposed to stay, but as every one knows this region is about as dangerous as it gets. The recent attack in Kenya as retaliation for their participation in subduing Somalian rebels is a reminder that Uganda could be next as one of the other major participants. We are all very concerned, but can only trust God to watch over them. He has acquired a phone (satellite phone I assume) that is supposed to work there, but there is very little if any infrastructure where they"ll be. Please pray for their success and especially their safety. God Bless!

I personally would carry a personal locator beacon such as sold by Sporty's Pilot shop. Can be had for $300. Prayers of course but men with guns to save you if need be.

Lord guide your SIL and protect him like Daniel in the den of lions. Will pray for him this evening, and during service tomorrow.

My son-on-law and his friend returned safely. Had some delays but his friend brought the adopted boy (Jonah) home to live here with them. They visited a park or some sort of resort that had tours to view wild animals. Jonah was totally confused since all his life he's been taught to avoid and run away from them. Thank you every one for your prayers.

Update: I just learned that Brad, the fellow that accompanied my S-I-L, has been diagnosed with Malaria. Please pray for Brad and his family as well as for Jonah as he adjusts to his new life here. Brad didn't take all the preventative medication due to the side effects he experienced the previous time he traveled to Uganda.
