Prayer Request

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Prayer Request

#1

Post by Keith B »

Asking for prayers too. Just lost a good friend Bob to Multiple Myeloma. He had been in remission for about 6 years, but it resurfaced in late December and it consumed him a few days ago.

Sadly, his mother passed away unexpectedly in late December, about the time his cancer resurfaced. Bob's oldest daughter is getting married the first of June, so will not have her Dad to walk her down the isle. And, to add to the family stress, his nephew was in a bad car accident a couple of days ago. He was kept in the hospital a couple of days for observation, but luckily he sustained no serious injuries.

Bob and his family are long-time keystone members of our church. Bob and his wife, who is our Director of Music, headed up a lot of the programs and activities at the church. He taught the young adult Sunday School class, and was one of our strong tenor's in the choir.

Bob ran the large family farm that is over a century old, and implemented a lot of new ideas and technology to the farming industry. Bob was also on the school board for the small school district and had been a member for 35 years; the longest term for anyone I know of on a school board.

Please pray for peace for all of the family and friends. His passing will leave a large hole in our congregation and the community, both from a physical and spiritual standpoint.

Prayers for family and friends, as for Bob, I rejoice as it sounds like he waiting for them in the presence of our Lord.

He has been a good and faithful servant to you Lord. We commend him to you, and ask for your mercies for his surviving family and friends. You, who have loved him more than any, have called him home, and we praise you for Bob's victory in you.
