Any events this weekend?

#1

Post by Soccerdad1995 »

So I just found out that my wife will be out of town this weekend. Are there any good events within a reasonable drive of Houston? I'd be willing to spend the night if necessary, so am open to anything in Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, etc. It's either that, or organize the garage....

What kinds of events?

Should be an IDPA match in Corpus Christi on Sunday; oops, calendar sez they're doing a 2-gun match.

If you are a car guy, the Corvette Race team will be at the Lone Star LeMans race at COTA - outside of Austin this weekend!

I would say it doesn't get to be a better event than that....but I'm pretty partial to the Blue Angels :patriot:

Gun competitions. Sorry for not being clear. I posted in the Competitive shooting forum but I'm guessing a lot of folks clicked straight from the main index page.

I'd prefer IDPA, just because I have shot that before, but am open to USPSA. Some of the non-gun things sounds interesting as well.

So what did you wind up doing?

I couldn't find any compelling competitions, so I ended up driving over to Lake Charles, LA for some gambling on Friday night, then took my daughter to a movie on Saturday night. She is 16 so my window of opportunity to hang out with her will soon be closing. I also cleaned a few guns and re-organized my ammo stockpile. All in all, a pretty good weekend.

Sounds like a good move on your part.
