This is great!

Maybe this will start a trend in Texas high schools.

Competitive shotgun shooting is pretty firmly established in a lot of high schools in Texas already. The Youth Target Foundation is one such umbrella organization that's available to schools in Texas and Oklahoma.

You can get a lot more information, including whether any of your local schools are already participating, by going to: http://www.youthtargetfoundation.org

I've been priveledged to be the school sponsor of one such school club, here at the school where I teach, for the last four years.

This team, with all freshman members, went on the win the "rookie" division national championships in Skeet, Sporting Clays, and Trap their first year at the USAYESS national championships at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio.

You might be surprised to know that there are many Middle Schools/Junior High Schools shooting competively.

Excellent news. The more available basic instruction and both club and team shooting is, the better for all.
