HB1815 doesn't have a Senate companion bill. HB1815 will be it.fadlan12 wrote:So whats the SB #? I did not see it on the Texas Leg website.
But I bet he will try to find a wayCharles L. Cotton wrote:
Both sections do apply, but having a gun in your car simply isn't illegal any longer, if HB1815 passes. Not even Rosenthal can twist this one!
Chas.
Another Urban Legelnd. Baseball bats are not clubs by just having one in your car.KD5NRH wrote:Wow, so after all this time of only being able to carry a loaded rifle or shotgun in the passenger seat, I'll finally be able to toss a real weapon like a baseball bat in there?
I feel so empowered.
In Chicago, a club is anything that the officer on the scene wants to be a club. People got arrested for having a hammer without nails or other tools. Or at least it was that way when I lived there.txinvestigator wrote:Another Urban Legend. Baseball bats are not clubs by just having one in your car.
I'll keep that in mind if I ever lose it and go to Chicago.seamusTX wrote:In Chicago, a club is anything that the officer on the scene wants to be a club. The circumstances had to be suspicious, though. Six kids riding around in a car with baseball bats at 2 a.m. are probably not on their way home from a game.
A lot of the urban legends that people pick up on the Internet are really the way things are in other places.

I also did my basic, "A" school, and then I got stuck with "C" school in great lakes. A miserable 2 years up there. I was so glad when I was Long Beach bound.jimlongley wrote:Did my basic north of there, and then an interminable amount of time in "A" school. Years later went to live southwest of there, and then finally moved to TX.
Sure am glad to be back and I ain't leaving again.
