The wait is over! But a new wait begins...

Post by FloMoAggie »

Hi all,

I've been lurking on the forum for the last couple of weeks as I've waited for my CHL to arrive. It's been very informative (and entertaining).

So, the good news is...my plastic arrived today. Very quick turnaround, as I submitted everything online (including fingerprints) on 2/9.

The bad news is...I took my weapon to the gunsmith to have new sights installed on Wednesday and I don't expect it back until tomorrow at the earliest, but more likely Monday or Tuesday. I just didn't expect to get a status change the day I dropped it off and then delivery two days later.

Oh well, I guess my Wally Walk will have to wait a few more days!

Best,

It's a Glock 19. I'm seriously considering a 26 as well. Would be nice as a back-up piece or even as a primary-carry during shorts/t-shirt/flip-flop weather.

It will probably be a few months before I pull the trigger on the purchase (sorry, I couldn't resist). I'm already into serious eye-roll territory with the wife on the amount I've spent on the 19, the CHL and the weekly ammo/range costs. But that's ok. She spends money on hair, nails and clothes. Since I work from home and am pretty much bald, I spend money on guns & guitars instead. ;-)

Eye rolling at the beginning is a good sign. I started with threats of physical violence, then proceeded to attacks on my character, then complaints about putting food on the table for kids, and then finally eye rolling. Eye rolling is easy.

Congratulation! The plastic is the 1st step, gun the 2nd step and step 3 to infinity is the holster on your journey. Process every carry possibility that seems reasonable to you. Look at all the different websites selling holster. Beg, borrow, steal or buy used second hand holsters that floats to the top. In the back of the closet place a box hiding all the holsters that did not work as planed.

Seriously, I think the holster is the most difficult piece to find happiness with. Best of luck on your journey.
