A suggestion, if not already considered, for scholarship eligibility: DPS preliminary background check completed and packet in hand.

Unfortunately, I've had a few students who made it all the way into the "eligibility requirements" portion of the classroom session before realizing they could have a problem - student loan deliquency being just one of them ...

But hey, overall I still think a great idea. Something like a $140 check in hand and already made out to DPS could make the difference between some folks being able to get the CHL promptly - or having to continue "naked".
