Renewing license - Out of country documents

#1

Post by cprems »

Do I have to send them in again? It's asking for them on my checklist. I already submitted them with my original application.

If I do, what do I need to send a copy of? Passport? Citizenship? Also, where do I submit them online?

Thanks.

I found a link in my email and sent in my Passport. It's one of the items that are on the list of approved documents. I'll let everyone know once I see the status online.

I hope this helps others in my situation (Born outside the US but got to Texas as soon as possible) :biggrinjester:

You just need 1 of the following: US passport, Cert. of Naturalization, Cert. of Citizenship, Permanent Resident Card, etc. if you have a US passport- that's prob easiest & best to send.

I know on my first renewal I had to resubmit mine and also when I recert as an instructor. Doesn't make much sense to me but I have a copy of the documents and I just send them in so it's not a big deal.

I sent in my passport on the 10th (via online link). Email confirmation received on the 14th. I checked my status today and I'm just waiting on background and finger print check.

Just a side note, I emailed them asking about having to send documents (Citizenship) and the email stated that my "out of Country" documents were still in my folder. I had already sent my passport in prior to getting this email.

Still waiting. Everything is green on the checklist page except BG check (nothing to find) and fingerprint review. I thought it would be fairly quick but I have until August.
