2018 Houston Rodeo updates

#1

Post by TreyHouston »

Family is dragging me to the Rodeo tonight. I will check and see if signs are posted again. I am sure they are. Last year parts were shut down because someone found a couple spent .22 casings on the ground.

The arena where the rodeo events take place is automatically off limits for being a "professional sports event". The exhibition area may have signage, even though the stadium is government owned. Someone may chime in if it's posted.

I was at the WCBBQ cookoff on Friday night.

The entrance corrals to the carnival area were not posted.

Some of the tents in the WCBBQ cookoff were posted.

I did not see any signs anywhere. I did pass a TSA bomb dog, that was interesting.

This is a sign of progress that they are allowing legal handgun carry onto the main property of the event. I assume that they will still post signage banning carry into the stadium.

I also saw progress that they didn't post at the GRB convention center for the Marathon Expo, though they still did post at the entrance gates to the finish line viewing area west of the GRB on race day.

I went last night. I was not carrying since I was also going to the rodeo and concert. No signage, but they did have walk through metal detectors at the fair entrance that I went though. Not sure how they are handling LTC's.
