What does your EDC setup look like?
I couldn't really find anything in the forum search, but im sure there are hundreds of thread out there... but what does you guy's EDC setup look like? here's mine.
fullsize S&W M1 M&P 40 with 15+1 mag @ 9 o'clock
SOG Trident rear strong pocket
SOG Instinct 1 o'clock handle facing the right
Offbrand double edge OTF rear weak pocket
Thrunite TN12 tactical flashlight weak front pocket on pocket clip
2 extra 15rd mags with Hornady Critical Duty rounds front facing @ 3 o'clock
I still have yet to pick up a tourniquet... Need to get one and then I think my EDC will be complete.. i might get some gauze as well to go with the TQ.

I love 40 S&W.... idc what people say about em... what is sad tho is i hear a lot of manufacturers have started to stray away from making 40s... which is a shame its a nice caliber imo.aaangel wrote:We’re probably the only two that carries a .40 here. Been carrying glock 27 since 06.

Everything I carry is subject to change as I am a gear nerd but there are a few items that are staples that I constantly keep in the rotation.
EDC guns : Glock 43, Glock 19, Ruger SP101 357 mag
EDC knives: Spyderco delica 4, Spyderco paramilitary 2, Spyderco Manix 2, Spyderco lady bug, Benchmade griptilian, GEC Churchill, GEC lick creek boys knife, GEC scout
EDC lights: Streamlight stylus pro, and a surefire I can’t think If the model #
Wallet: recycled firefighter bifold
EDC medical: RATS tourniquet, CATS tourniquet
I also always carry extra ammunition for any gun I carry.

You talking about that thread that showed up second in the list (before this one was started) when you search for EDC?The Annoyed Man wrote:There was an active thread on this topic that lasted forever: http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic. ... 064#p48064

The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

Re: What does your EDC setup look like?
I've had friends tell me the .40 is a caliber designed in search of a need. But didn't it come about years ago when the FBI was looking for a new standard for the HRT? As pistol calibers go, seems like it's about as effective as anything else that's common. I'm of the Clint Smith mind that handguns are for portability first, and that you shouldn't have set down your long gun in the first place.aaangel wrote:We’re probably the only two that carries a .40 here. I'm not a huge fan of full load .40 in really small pistols. I've shot a friends G27 (without mag pinkie extension) and I found it difficult to control on follow up. We switched to a subsonic load and it was more controllable. Probably like a lot of people, when I first started carrying I was really conscious of printing and wanted something pocket sized.
I'll still pocket carry if I can't dress around the gun, but I picked up a very lightly used Springfield XDm a couple of years ago and it's become my preferred carry. It was one of the first "M" models made with a bitone stainless slide. It's "tactical" size because I think Springfield was looking to challenge in the LE market. I download the mags by one, but 15+1 ain't nothing to sneeze at and the extra size and weight of the gun makes it easy to control with the snappy .40. I carry it in a simple DeSantis high ride Kydex hybrid, and two extra mags on the left hip. I actually got used to the extra mags quickly. The weight seems to balance the weight of the gun on the right. So that's 46 rounds in case something goes bump really badly and/or a magazine fails.
