September 1st! :rock" :fire :fire :fire

Dove Season!

Time to pull out the 'ol O/U, give her a good cleaning, pick up some shells, and replace the contents of my truck box with hunting gear (for Dove and the highly anticipated deer opener).

:thewave :txflag: :anamatedbanana :patriot:

I think I'll be eating some dove breast with cream cheese and jalapeno, all wrapped in bacon, very soon!

Beautiful picture. It sounds like you had a good hunt.

Great pics AndyC!

My season has been a bust so far. 1 yesterday, 6 today. They are just *not* flying in southern Bexar County. I'm going to try my deer lease on the 11th...maybe I'll have better luck there.

Great pics! Looking at those pics of being in the field, sure makes me want to hunt!
I'm in the South Zone, so no hunting for me until the 17th. :cryin
I've been out at my friends place, and between the two of us we lost count of the white-wings after 250 in about 5-6 minutes! It's going to be a good year for South Texas dove hunters. For the past 2 years we've barely shot at all, because there were just no birds to be had. With all of the rain this summer, they are coming out of the woodwork. As a bonus this year, my 14 year old daughter has decided to come and try her hand at shooting down some flying bbq! Hopefully, we should have a freezer full of birds within a day or two of the season opening. :anamatedbanana
I'll be sure to post pics of our first day or two in the field.

In the meantime, I hope everyone has a safe and fun hunting season. :txflag:
