Been reading the Gun Retention thread in the General section. I would like to suggest this topic for a seminar at the forum day. This would be a very interesting seminar and I believe well attended.

In addition to gun retention, some other topics that would be beneficial are; flashlights, OC/Pepper Spray, impact devices, folding knives...all of "extra" things CHL's are frequently advised to carry. It's easy to find instruction in how to shoot a pistol, but most people are stuck with individual research when it comes to less lethal devices. Seems like it could be accomplished with something as simple as a display table with a variety of options and tips on what's important to look for, i.e. how to cut through the hype.

Tom

I agree that it would be a wonderful class for the 2008 seminar!

I would also like to attend. Do we send money ahead of time or bring cash?

A registration form will be posted when the schedule is set, about a month out from the event. You mail that in (unless Charles goes high-tech this year).

I'm probably in for 2, barring mass area evacuation. We heard great things about it in our recent CHL class, and can't wait to attend.

I will plan on being there this year. I got to work last year and had to miss out. Don't want to miss this year.

Count me in for two. Work is more flexible this year for me, so I should be able to make dinner on Friday night as well.

A shotgun clinic sounds terrific! Now I'll just have to be sure to get a shotgun before September comes around!

I also am interested in a weapons instruction clinic that would employ knives, flashlights, and OC.

Is that what we'd call a crash course?
