what R U bringing!?

#1

Post by big 54r »

I don't know if this is the place for this but I am a new attendee to this event and was wondering what any of ya'll who are going are gonna bring as for as (handguns: caliber, type, how many guns and ammo amounts?) all this aside from the "find the gun for you" session.

I know I will be bringing my CZ 75b and my ruger MKIII .22lr for my wife's clinincs. I am also considering bringing my makarov my wife's rossi .357 and maybe a CZ 52 to wring out since I have alot of ammo for it, I still need to get some of the other caliber ammo for the clinic's.

I may not shoot all of the handgun's I bring but I like option's... :cheers2: :txflag: :patriot:

Walther P99AS for sure....and maaaybe the PX4, with about 800 rounds of 9mm. Still have not found anything I like shooting as much as the Walther, but maybe the fins a gun table will yield something.

Pistols I will bring if I can make it:
• Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II
• H&K USP Compact .40
• S&W 642

Does PSC have a rifle range of at least 100 yards? If it does, I'll probably also bring my Remington 700 VSF in .308 and my Bushmaster Varminter.

Enough drinking water to drown a horse. It is hot in Houston in September.

This is true, however only the pistol ranges are in use by participants of CHL day.
The "combat" shotgun range is also a pistol bay.
These are the bays/ranges that are normally used in the IDPA match on this date.

I think you will find the day quite full with the planned activities.

Having said this, time permitting, I am sure that a participating PSC member would
be willing to take someone as his guest over to a rifle range.

All but 2 or 3 of them are really nice guys.

I have been mulling over my "gear kit" that will be coming along with me and the miss to make sure all bases are covered, here's a partial workup:

duffel/backpack, muffs/earplugs (many), lots and lots of water (some sport drink mix also), plenty of ammo (various calibers), many magazines (various calibers and guns), maybe some shoot gloves (to counter slide bite...it still happens sometimes!), eye protection/sun shades, hat (boonie/ball cap), towel, sun tan lotion, energy bars for quick rush, I would think a chair if a lecture is gonna happen before each training session... it may seem like alot but it really isn't once you lay it out and organize the "gear".

what's in your "gear kit"?

what am I missing?

thanx :cheers2:

I have some cheap I use at work I could bring to "scoot" me along... :cheers2:
