    • 1 spare magazine for either gun.
    • Noyfe. Most of the time, a Kershaw Ken Onion designed Tanto Blur. I have other smaller noyfe's for when the situation demands it, and a couple of bigger ones too. But most of the time, it's the Tanto Blue.
    • Light. A Fenix PD35.
  • In my EDC bag:
    • Multi-tool. A Leatherman MUT.
    • Two 20 oz bottles of hydration....usually Sobe Water.
    • A bag of beef jerky....Dan's Smokehouse Jerky - the best on the planet.
    • A backup pair of reading glasses.
    • iPad
    • Pen and Journal.
    • Either a small pair of cheap binoculars, or a Vortex 15X Recon R/T monocular.... depending on circumstances.
    • First aid kit.
    • Spare magazines for whatever gun I'm carrying, IF I think it necessary.
I will be doing a backpack episode soon so make sure to subscribe and you will see my full EDC kit.

Look forward to it. I keep a get home bag in my vehicle at all times that has everything "I" believe I will need to get home should my truck be somehow disabled, but I always like to see what others have,to see if there may be some better options, or things I may not have considered.

I think this is a great thread, while we may all keep our handguns with us, there are times when other things are needed.

OK, I would need a caddy to help me with all that!

I too carry a small "boo boo" kit, but also a "blowout" kit, including Israeli Bandage, Chest seal, quickclot gauze, and torniquet. Had it with me on Saturday at Armadillo...

Great video! I carry my XD subcompact 40 S & W over my Glock 23. My EDC consists of a knife that's in expensive, as well, and flashlight. I travel international often, so I have a small shoulder bag that holds my knife, flashlight, 2 phones, charges, earBuds and a pen. My bag also, can hold a firearm as large as a 1911. I hate tons of items in my pockets.

yeah, but I didn't try to lift it! Image

Interested in that Vortex and your thoughts vs. a spotting scope or laser range finder?

I've considered buying a dedicated spotting scope, but something else keeps coming up. Regarding the Vortex, I like that it has the same MRAD reticle that is in my Vortex riflescope (the one that is on my SCAR 17). I also like the little "B27 silhouettes" that help with quick ranging estimates. My complaint would be about its size and weight. This one is a 15x60mm, but they also make an 8x32mm that has the same reticle and is a fair amount smaller. My son has one, and it's pretty cool too. OTH, 15X beats 8X at almost any distance. So that is why I alternatively carry a small pair of cheap binoculars on the days when I don't really need the power and reticle of the Vortex. But the Vortex is great at the range, weighing less and being smaller than a real spotting scope.

I also have a Leica Rangemaster 1200 laser rangefinder, which is supposed to be good out to 1200 yards .... as if I could see that far......

Unless I'm shooting at unknown distances, I don't use the Leica that much. Its magnification level is only 7x, so it's not that practical for "glassing" anything.
