Aside from that, there's usually a decibel level around me when reassembling the Mk II that would not be out of place on an airfield, until I remember the proper sequence of reassembly.
There is actually and aftermarket part now that replaces a bit. Instead of all the weirdness, you unscrew one screw like a Browning Buckmark does. If I were shooting Rugers again, I'd get that part BEFORE I even acquired the pistol.

Hmmm, did a Google search for Ruger parts but didn't see anything about an aftermarket replacement. Got any leads?
