Um, yeah, I said I have a CCW and the attacker is wounded. Figure it out.Victim: I'm licensed with a CCW, he's currently wounded. And um.
911: Currently what?
Victim: Wounded.
911: Wounded? You sh... Did you shoot him? How is he wounded?

Do stupid things, win stupid prizes.“‘I’m sorry, please don’t kill me, I don’t know why I did that, I’m high you know, I just wanna go home,’” the teen told the man who had just shot him.

"An MLive Media Group investigation found that crime numbers continue to drop across Michigan, even as police ranks decline. Some see the seemingly contradictory trends as proof the proliferation of concealed weapons is deterring lawbreakers."

Don't want none? Don't start none!
Couple of interesting points: 1-the 911 operator "sounding incredulous" and the idea that the correlation between concealed carry permits and crime rate drop is "largely anecdotal" betrays the author's bias, but managed to stay within bounds. 2-the teen getting within arms reach & able to make 2 attempts with a taser says to me that the victim needs to work a bit more on situational awareness. If they had stuck with the knock-out game, this story could've had a much different ending. 3-the da isn't pressing for an aggravated assault charge because the victim wasn't injured. I guess dumb luck trumps intent in Michigan.

At this point your mantra becomes "I was in fear of my life, I was in fear of my life, I was in fear of my life..."

Anyone have any ideas here? Seems high...The intended victim moved quickly, pulling his stainless steel .40-caliber Smith and Wesson. It had a full 10-bullet magazine, and was worth about $900 police estimated.
The victim should buy a lotto ticket for being so lucky to end up having shoot this guy of all people...Whatever the outcome, the teen has written a letter apologizing to his victim.
“I don’t blame you for what you did. You were only trying to protect yourself. I only wish I could go back to change it to were (sic) I never did it.”
“Im very sorry,” he closes at the letter’s end.

Looks like a 4006, or maybe a 4046. They weren't even $900 when new. LE trade-ins on a 4046 are about $300 now.

Investigators will often ask the offender to write a letter of apology, it makes a good confession. The perp's own handwriting no less.
