What about changing the bottom rubber swipe into a brush? Some type of one way vent would certainly help, have seen suggestions for using a mail slot. Keeping the air from circulating in that spot (the air cushion between the doors) is more important for efficiency than it being air-tight.

ETA: You could also try a second closer on the bottom.

I drilled two 1/2" holes on each side into the 2x4 frame between the doors to relieve the pressure. Going up through the top is probably not an option as they usually install a heavy top plate that may be 6" or more thick.

My entry door is a triple panel doorway, with the door in the center and a windowed side panel on either side. Drilling holes in the door side frame will do no good.

With door window opened just enough to make it close properly. Any less is a no go.
