Prayers indeed - wishing everyone safety. If you're in the path, I'd recommend leaving soon and gathering supplies... better safe than sorry. I am fairly confident the storm will not be weakened before landfall.

Good luck to everyone, I'll be praying for your well being on the coast. We were thinking of hitting Galveston before the summer officially ended, but we were watching this storm and were surprised by the it over the last few days. Please, everyone be safe and smart!

Good luck to everyone in the path. Harvey could be a 3 by landfall, and Ike was a 2 for reference.

I had stuff on hand, but I topped off last night anyway. Nice that HEB is open until midnight, I was able to go after my VFD meeting where the department made plans for this weekend. Guadalupe County is a couple hours from the coast, but expected to get A LOT of rain and flooding. FEMA has supplies staged at the Randolph Auxiliary Air Field near Seguin. And of course I-10 is the evac route from Houston area to San Antonio. So will have a lot of people too.

All of my kids and grand kids came up here for the weekend. They all live in various parts down there from Alvin to Conroe. The only one of my family that is still down there is my son in law. He is an ICE agent and part of the ERT so he had to stay behind. Please keep him in your prayers.

Anybody evacuating to San Antonio from Houston is making a gamble.

:thumbs2: Help your neighbors during this hurricane and you're covered until the next one hits Texas.

We remember leaving Fort Hood in the face of Ike. Every road, large and small, between Waco and Rusk was jammed bumper to bumper with folk heading north from the coastal areas.

Hurricanes is why we moved away from the coast to north of I-10.

We picked up our 4 year old grandson from Sugarland yesterday. I have a buddy helping me feed the deer and put everything up. Loads of fun.

Hope everyone in Harvey's path fares well.

Rained and thundered with gusty winds all night here in the west side of town of Houston TX. Prayers for those on the main landfall areas of the hurricane.

So far everything is fine in Friendswood. Creeks and bayous are rising and with another three to four days of rain, things can change. The rain is falling very hard, but there are breaks that are helping the situation greatly. If/when Harvey really does retreat to the Gulf, then head inland again close to Houston, the rain is going to get worse because we won't have breaks between heavy rainfall.

I haven't seen or heard of any deaths in Rockport or the Corpus Christi area and I pray it's because there aren't any. That would be amazing for a Cat. 4 hurricane and clearly the hand of God.

Thanks for the prayers.

Hasn't been too bad in Galveston. Some horizontal rains. Steady 50 MPH winds earlier, but its back off now. Plenty of rain. Other than a little bit of street flooding, I don't think there is much flooding. A McDonald's sign might be the biggest casualty of the Island.
