My comments above about preferring my .45 for my primary did not include any bad
references to 9MM, which I also carry when the clothing and locale are conducive.

I was more referring to .380 and below in size, in semi-auto's.
I think .38 Special seems pretty good in a revolver.

The comment "it's all about shot placement" is correct, but it seems to carry the implication
that those who carry a smaller caliber are cognizant of its shortcomings and so will become
more accurate pistoleros.

Having been to the range with multiple pistol shooters, most average shooters can hit
center of mass with their preferred handgun, and that should be enough for self defense
purposes.

Some years ago I was considering a .380, but at the time I worked with a large, mentally
unstable guy who probably weighed 250 and was into martial arts. Looking at the chance that
this guy's rage could erupt someday in the workplace, I couldn't see .380's stopping this threat easily.

I could see a place for a smaller caliber handgun inside my vehicle if I was an Uber driver.
