Winter Wonderland

Post by SQLGeek »

I went to bed with snow flurries flying around and thought "This isn't going to stick."

My kids barged into the room at 5:00 AM this morning jumping up and down that there was snow everywhere.

I'm not sure if we actually moved back to Texas...no wait it was 80 degrees on Monday, we did.

I wonder if PSC is open today?

I don't have pictures to post - but I went to bed last night with no snow flurries happening or any signs we were even going to see any, and woke up to quite a bit of it covering the ground around the area.

It is very pretty, but will be short lived! I moved to Houston from Chicago to get away from poor politics and snow. I left my snow blower in Chicago.

I have some good pictures of some very confused deer lurking under snow laden brush, but since Photobucket went crazy I have not established a new host for photos. Maybe later.

It's very pretty and I hope it goes away soon.

Indeed, it's already melting. It's a nice change but I'm glad it won't be here until the spring.

it snowed huge fluffy flakes here in San Antonio! it was pretty cool. My mother-in-law came to the back door and stuck her hand out to catch some flakes, she giggled like a kid, that was pretty neat. Hopefully she'll remember it today, probably not, I got a couple of good pics.

Nothing here in Galveston. I had to go to Lamarque early this morning. was able to make a snowball and toss it. That's enough winter for me.

Funny story. My kids still live down there and have been sending me pictures. In DFW, we didn't get any snow. Anyway, when I moved back to the DFW area in 1999 from Houston, I had never seen a white Christmas. in 2004, I still had never seen a white Christmas but it snowed about 4" in Houston on Christmas eve and day. Kids again sending me pictures to rub it in.

DFW got snow, a lot of snow around 2011-12 didn't it? I remember our drive up to Grand Prairie hitting snow and sleet on the way and then a blanket of deep snow the next day. I may be off on the year, but I know it snowed a lot.

I was in San Antonio when it got 13.5 inches of snow one night in 1985.

It's Bizarro World! San Antonio was colder than we were last night (33 vs 40) and had more snow on the ground than we do.
