The two mountain bikers did everything they were suppose to do. Did everything they could. But it attacked and killed one of them.
There must have been something wrong with the cougar.

Clearly we need to make it illegal for cougars to attack people. :biggrinjester:
God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
Genesis 1:26

Then the Massachusetts legislature came along and prevented these bicylist's from having the means to protect themselves. Sad.

I thought this happened near Seattle. WA is s "shall issue" stste, so if the cyclists chose to be prey, I don't blame the cougar for doing what comes naturally.

My mistake. The article wasn't coming up for me and I assumed wrongly that it was Massachusetts (home of the Boston Globe).

One of the MA commenters stated: "more encounters with bears, showing up recently in Newton (last week) and Waltham (two seen roaming together last year) are a result of strong recovery of bear numbers here in Mass. Wildlife population rebounds have consequences."

So they are indeed having wildlife issues in Massachusetts as well.

You mean the tools they used to kill it after they tracked it down. Those tools sir, should only be issued to the Government.

Washington State has constitutional open carry. So maybe they didn't do everything they could have to protect themselves.
