Obama's verbal slip on today's "ABC This Week"
During questioning of Sen. Obama by George Stephanopoulos today on ABC's This Week, Obama made the following comments:
"Let's not play games," he said. "What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you're absolutely right that that has not come."
Mr. Stephanopoulos interrupted with, "Christian faith."
"My Christian faith," Mr. Obama said quickly. "Well, what I'm saying is that he hasn't suggested that I'm a Muslim. And I think that his campaign's upper echelons have not, either. What I think is fair to say is that, coming out of the Republican camp, there have been efforts to suggest that perhaps I'm not who I say I am when it comes to my faith -- something which I find deeply offensive, and that has been going on for a pretty long time."
Asked to comment on the accidental misstatement illustrating the difficulty of the issue, Obama spokesman Bill Burton offered this comment: "I'm not surprised that the only outlet doing this story is The Washington Times."

What matters is the lies and voting for someone that has the same views as you do.tallmike wrote:Christian, Muslim, Jew, Atheist, etc... Does it really matter?
So far Obama has 0 reason for me to vote for him.

It might be that tallmike meant Obama is such a bad choice in general, regardless of religious affiliation. At least that's how I took it.

No. I think he is a bad choice in general, I will not vote for him because I greatly disagree with him politically. I dont understand the concern with his religion though and I will never vote or not vote for someone based on their religion.ScubaSigGuy wrote:It might be that tallmike meant Obama is such a bad choice in general, regardless of religious affiliation. I may have a different view of things than most here because I do not like politics and religion to mingle at all. Religion does not bring politics up to a greater level of morality. It is still the same power hungry folks but they will pretend to be any religion they have to, in order to get a vote. It turns churches into political tools, it invites corruption and divisiveness into someplace it should not be. Religion does not make a greedy politician a better guy, it just gives them a reason to want to join and be active in a church.

No. It might affect his eternity, but it won't affect mine.KaiserB wrote:Greatly ... it can affect your eternity.tallmike wrote:Christian, Muslim, Jew, Atheist, etc... Does it really matter?
I don't mean to sound callous, but I don't care where politicians spend their eternity. I vote based on what they will do in the here-and-now.

Just another nail in the lid of the democratic campaign coffin. Don't worry, he's bound to screw up even more before election day. He's just not as smart as he thinks he is.

Truly, I doubt he is muslim or christian. I think he is a completely vacuous man, inside and out.

Get your free obama buttons here as well, to help deplete Moveon's funds. I'm ordering multiple, and putting them in my recycle bin.
