Just to close the loop, we had the guns appraised and they were valued as follows: .410, $4000; 28 gauge, $4000; 20 gauge, $3000; 12 gauge, $2800. Next step is to find the right place to sell them.

Thanks again for the assistance.

The small guage 23s, could easily bring 3K or more each depending on configuration and conditon, if the 28 and 410 are "baby frame" guns they would be in the 5K plus range retail.

I recently sold a model 23 20 guage pidgeon grade for 2K.

The 12 will be in the 1.2 to 1.8K depending on configuration and condition, maybe a little more.

Dawson's Doubles handles 23s often and would be another source of information.

I'll check with Dawson's Doubles to see how they work. Did you sell yours through them? My Dad's guns are Golden Quail, like new, unfired, in the box, except the .410 (see above). The appraiser noted that they appeared unfired.

Thanks for the tip!

I didn't sell my 23 to Mr. Dawson, however I have purchased shotguns in the past.

Send me a PM if you want to know the details.
