Are those idiots? Texas alone has 800K CHLer and there is no blood on the streets. Florida has over 1 million CHLer. Is DC more safe than Dallas or Fortworth?

Also remember that DC has a 10 round limit to magazine capacity.
Keep calm and carry.

It's one thing to disagree on an issue, but the number of liberals who are outright liars is amazing. What they throw around as facts are false and it's no secret. Oh how I hate liars!

This is not reciprocity. This is constitutional carry like Vermont or Arizona. For now, anyway.

Non-prohibited persons can carry any handgun that is legal in the district. DC residents must have the gun registered. No permit/CHL is required.

10 round magazines (or less) only.

Carry is still prohibited in federal buildings. It is not prohibited in national parks. HOWEVER - be aware that any building where federal workers work is a "federal building" and no guns are allowed...

DC is seeking a stay of the ruling. If they get it, we're back to where we were. For now, anyway. I don't see the circuit overturning this.

Eventually this or a case like it will head to SCOTUS. They can only duck cases for so long. It needs to be settled once and for all anyway.

I agree completely.

I wouldn't rush to pop any corks or do any high fives - the leftist legal machine scramble to shut this down is already underway. :skep:

D.C. seeks stay of gun ruling
http://www.politico.com/blogs/under-the ... 92993.html

Motion by D.C. posted here:
http://images.politico.com/global/2014/ ... aymotn.pdf

If they can get a stay (probably, around there...) and then win on appeal, the SCOTUS will most likely decline a hearing and all stays as it has been before.

I liked this comment. "The Court should grant this motion because a stay would preserve the status quo,"
It would by nice if the judge refused the stay, but he probably won't.

MPDC finally put up something on its website.

http://mpdc.dc.gov/release/possession-firearms-district" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Basically they are saying that anyone who can carry in their home state (eg. AZ, VT) or has any CHL/CCW/LTC can carry in DC. The word "or" implies that the state of residence of the permit/license doesn't have to be your state of residence.

However, that is not what the ruling says, but this should cover 99% of people who want to carry there.

DC residents can carry their registered firearms.

DC has applied for a stay.

Also, if you're carrying, beware of crossing over into Maryland...

Does this have an effect on the recent cases where people were convicted of illegal possession of firearms, bullets, shell casings or magazines?
