I was there last week, I don't do late night carousing, and although we stayed in the heart of the French Quarter, we never made it onto Bourbon Street. All that being said, we felt safe had a good time. Me and my beloved will return. It is a good place to armed though.

Me either. I've been there a couple of times but I no longer have any interest in going anywhere that smells like urine and vomit all the time. :grumble

Google "Civil Asset Forfeiture". It is a big problem, and it is not limited to guns, or to Mississippi. There was a town in Texas that was particularly bad at pulling people over for the slightest infraction, bullying them into consenting to a search, and then grabbing any cash they could find.

Kinda strange that a place like NOLA caters to tourism and allows the street thugs, some uniformed, to fleece the tourists. I used to call NOLA home. Now it wouldn't be a sore spot in my childhood if the Ponchatrain scoured the place clean.

When I lived in St. Louis I've heard a few stories about requiring proof of ownership as well too. I've heard that down here about Tampa police too.

IF they steal any of my firearms WE will be going to Federal court and I would contact every media outlet and conservative talk show possible

After Katrina, I haven't visited N.O. and will never again.

Never been there and don't plan on it. From what I see though some areas look like St. Louis city on steroids!
