USC students robbed; suspect shot, wounded

Colleges are places to learn, not die at the hands of attention-starved mass-murderers.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A group of USC students were robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday morning. No students were hurt, but campus police shot and wounded the suspect.

A woman and three men were robbed by an armed suspect while walking down sorority and fraternity row at about 12:30 a.m. After taking property from the victims, the suspect ran through an alley to 30th and Figueroa streets, where campus police saw the armed suspect and shot him in the leg.

"Two of the students followed the suspect, at which time they were able to flag down an officer from the department of public safety from USC,"

...

The incident happened just a block from the USC campus, and the shooting comes just one week after two USC graduate students were fatally shot near campus.
more at link above.

LAPD added 30 officers to the area after that ...

However California has campus carry ... in a way. However, it is California.

So in CA can police shoot at a fleeing suspect? Never any accurate details.

For the record, USC is located in a pretty bad part of town.

Under certain circumstances, that's legal in a number of places.

In New York, if a fleeing suspect had committed a violent felony, was still armed, and presented an immediate danger to the community at large, pursuing police could lawfully use deadly force to stop him. Citizens were restricted to using deadly force only to stop a deadly attack, but couldn't use it to stop flight, no matter what the BG had done.

If it's in a "bad section of town", it's okay. :evil2:
