I understand the fact that senators and representatives cannot be single-issue flag wavers all the time, and that even if they don't help us on a particular bill or issue, we have to look at the broad view -- are we better off overall with this person? and if yes, avoid scalding them too badly over any one issue.

However, if this is true, and I have no reason at all to think Mr. Cotton is making it up:

...that person's head needs to be on a stick for both Republicans and Democrats to see. It's one thing to come out and say "I can't do this one" up front, but a switcheroo backstab needs to be punished.

I have contacted both Gov. Perry and Mr. Straus. I sincerely hope this makes it.
