United Nations is at it AGAIN

Post by preacher »

I know there has been much discussion about the UN trying to take away the guns of Americans, but this is defintely a back-door approach that most gun owners probably weren't watching for. We homeschool our children and this report came from Home School Legal Defense Association. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, if approved by the US congress and signed by the President would effectively disarm Americans who have children living in their home. This Convention has been around for awhile but had very little backing from Pres. Bush and the Republican congress. Obama, however, has said he would sign it if congress passed it. Here's the report.....

More UN trash, we should pull out of that useless forum and kick them all off US shores. Let them find someplace else to attempt to rule from.

That is so totally over the top, it will not even be seriously considered. Whoever is in office, will NEVER subrogate the U.S. Constitution to that treaty.

If Obama even hints as leading towards favoring that treaty, there will be a backlash against him, the likes no president since Nixon has ever seen.

Hmmmm....maybe on 2nd thought he should favor it. It'd be a good way for Congress to force and early resignation.

How many of us have been shocked at some of the things Obama has done already? Do we really think he won't do this? Don't bet on it.

It will never happen. He might favor this nonsense but Congress won't even let it out of committee that is if it becomes a bill and has even a sponsor.

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child: Background and Policy Issues
April 01, 2009

Note: This exert taken out of context:

"The President has not transmitted CRC to the Senate for its advice and consent to ratification. Despite widespread U.S. support for the overall objectives of the Convention, some past and current policymakers have raised concerns as to whether it is an effective mechanism for protecting children’s rights. The Clinton Administration signed the Convention in February 1995, but did not submit it to the Senate primarily because of strong opposition from several Members of Congress. The George W. Bush Administration opposed CRC and expressed serious political and legal concerns with the treaty, arguing that it conflicted with U.S. laws regarding privacy and family rights. "

didn't "the wun" sign a nuke treaty with the Ruskies last month without advice and consent of the Congress on the basis of it being an amendment to the original Salt II treaty... nice use of a loophole to circumvent the Constitution there. And, he is a self proclaimed expert in constitutional law. Nothing would surprise me.

The UN, or more appropriately the "Roosevelt League of Nations", is the largest enemy of our Republic and our (almost "former") capitalist economic system.

No. It's the same for any other private school in Texas.

You also don't need a teaching certificate to be a college professor.
