WASHINGTON, D.C. –-(Ammoland.com)- On Monday, U.S. Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) introduced H.R. 34, the Safe Students Act, which would repeal the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990.
Have not seen this posted elsewhere on here.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) is one of the co-sponsors.

Would be great, but does anybody want to lay odds on this bill ever seeing the light of day?

Can't Pres Trump just pull an Obama and executive order it?

If the GFSZA get repealed, schools will post 30.06/.07 even though it is public property. Based on thread concerning 30.06 signs this issue can be debated to no end.
:biggrinjester:

They don't need to repeal it that need to make it an add on charge. "If you a committing a felony within 1000 feet of a school and a have a gun on you will be charged will XYZ."

IIRC, this was the original intent of GFZSA to begin with.....

They would still not need 30.06/07 because it would still be illegal to carry a firearm on the premises of an educational institution per state law... Unless TX HB560 passes...

But I agree that schools would still try to post signage, seeing that fines for signs is more than a little slow.

But yeah, Scott won't have anything left to debate on here.

:nono: We need fewer special snowflake laws not more of that garbage.

If somebody robs a convenience store on Saturday night, it makes no difference if the store is 900 feet or 9000 feet from the nearest school. The law should treat both robbers the same.
