Sounds like a great time -- sitting down to discuss solving a problem that doesn't exist... Guns are not violent. They have no will and cannot act on their own. They can be used to enact violence, but it takes a person intent on doing violence to use them so. Gun violence is therefore not a thing. Now if they want to discuss violence prevention, there is probably a lot to talk about.

There is one "gun rights" activist mentioned on the panel along with one assuredly against "gun rights" and two (perhaps three counting the moderator) that one might suspect are also anti "gun rights". I'd be interested in hearing it all, but don't fancy making a trip to Dallas just for that privilege.

I need to re-read the Constitution...must have missed the part about "community responsibility" being greater than individual rights.

This year's panel of distinguished speakers will explore the tensions between individual rights and community responsibility in the charged area of preventing gun violence. The discussion will be provocative and balanced, no matter what political beliefs you hold.
This panel doesn't appear to be balanced at all, I mean I know Texas Gun Sense is libtarded, its right there on their 'About Texas Gun Sense' page. I don't know enough about 'Texas Call to Action' and can't find anything on them googling but I'll take a wild guess. A sociology teacher from UT and 2 faith based individuals - 1 of which is suppose to be the Moderator... Where is an NRA or recognized Pro 2A group being represented ? This feels like a typical left move, where they are flat out lying and putting a spin on things to seem 'fair and balanced'. I'm guessing Community Responsibility must be the new way to put 'guns scare me so you are infringing on my rights'. </rant>

I hope the event is recorded so we can catch Andrea Brauer in another lie. Scott Lewis will do a good job for gun owners.

I can't understand why I was not invited! :smilelol5:

The host, Emanu-El Temple, is active in anti-gun agenda, so the moderator from the temple isn't going to be neutral. I'm sure it's fair and balanced in their minds, but not to anyone who doesn't think their way.
Maybe if there was a local panelist like Colion Noir or Dana Loesch to represent the "individual rights" side.

You are welcome to come up and stay with us! Lately Stern has been advocating for giving Constitutional RIghts to non-citizens and for taking Constitutional RIghts away from law abiding citizens. I doubt that he will moderate fairly. I would love to sit next to you in the audience - I will wear my Trump 2016 skullcap (don't worry, its in Hebrew, none of the liberals can read it...).

Preventing gun violence? Hmmm, how about we teach gun safety and marksmanship in public schools so responsible citizens can shoot the BG's before they commit any said "gun violence"? This will have the side benefit of also preventing "knife violence", "stick violence", "rock violence", and "fist violence".

I wonder how many on the panel would be in favor of this common sense gun control measure?

I propose that at the last moment a chair be placed next to the other panelist for you, then just tell them that you were invited at the last moment and your glad you just happen to be in Dallas and were able to accept the last minute invitation, by the time they figure out whats going on, it'll be over, just a thought. :txflag:
