Police say a single shot was fired in the store and are describing it as an accidental discharge of a gun.

OK, let's save a bunch of time, as here are the responses to come.

1. "Keep your booger hook off the bang switch."
2. There is no such thing as an "accidental" discharge.
3-100. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I want to know what kind of gun fired when it was dropped.
God and the soldier we adore,
In times of danger, not before.
The danger gone, the trouble righted,
God's forgotten, the soldier slighted.

The most surprising part of this story is that there is a Walmart in The Woodlands.

There are actually 3 Walmarts this one isnt the "nice" one its just a typical Walmart. The third just opened and doesn't have a checkout stand just walk out the door and they bill you what is in the cart.

I don't own a 1911 yet so I have a question about them. Is a 1911 with the thumb safety off, "drop safe"?

Some are some aren't. Whether its a Model 70 or 80. Some have light weight titanium firing pins. or stronger firing pin springs. Their is a Schartz safety ( tied into the the grip safety.)

There was an ND inside a Walmart by a small town police chief in full uniform several years back in Tyler. Shot himself too. He was fiddling with his Glock while in line at a checkstand.
Do what you say you're gonna do.

 Yeah! It didn't start out as such an exclusive development. The Woodlands is a HUD development funded by you and me to include all economic demographics from subsidized housing to high end homes; a deal worked out by George Mitchell and the federal government . Funny they never did have any "projects" type housing. :???:

Why was he even in a position to be openly handling -- and dropping -- a gun in the first place?
