Channel 5 is reporting one officer has died.
I am not for sure how they missed two guns during a search. It make me wonder if the off duty Officer just didn’t search before handing the suspect off to the Officers arriving on the scene. A lot of information not known at this time.

Prayers for the Officers, the families, and DPD tonight.

i heard theft in that HD is rampant, thats why they hired Off duty police to serve as loss prevention officers. so this is not the first time they responded to a theft suspect. i guess its another day at the office.

Time to do more than that.

Close to 500,000 illegal immigrants here. The mayor wastes city resources waging war on historical monuments and the police chief is afraid to deal with the enormous homeless issue for fear of the ACLU. Will become another Detroit soon enough.

DPA has a website established for assisting the families of the officers. The Assist the Officer Foundation provides assistance for officers and their families when officers are injured in the line of duty.
