Here we go again...
“Instead, we should ban possession of military-style semiautomatic assault weapons, we should buy back such weapons from all who choose to abide by the law, and we should criminally prosecute any who choose to defy it by keeping their weapons,” Swalwell wrote.

Yep. Make criminals out of law abiding citizens while failing to enforce existing laws that would keep law abiding citizens safe. Makes perfect sense.

Swalwell is a representative from the San Francisco area.
Say no more, he's a Nancy wantabe.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

It looks like the main difference between this and current California law is this offers compensation if you turn it in.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I might consider selling my AR15, but I seriously doubt they could afford it.

The mindset of these people is incredible, for lack of a better word. They are talking in an echo chamber, heck if this guy is from SF, he's living in an echo chamber and assuming that because he/they say or pass some law (clearly unConstitutional) that we, the great unwashed from fly over country are going to swoon in our haste to do their bidding...

In the words of Bugs Bunny, "What a maroon..."
