Grand Prairie PD to being using "Less Lethal" shotguns and ammo

They're trying out using "less than lethal" shotguns and ammunition. They're also prohibited from carrying their standard shotguns and ammo at the same time, so here's hoping this alternative does the job well enough...

Yeah, it might save the lives of BG, but what about the officers? if the "less than lethal", doesn't work, they will either have to transition to handgun, or use it as a club. JMHO

Hopefully any bad people requiring the Grand Prairie PD to use deadly force on them will also bring their "less lethal" weapons to the altercation.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

Even though the article says "not a beanbag round" it still sounds to me like a low velocity beanbag round fired from a regular shotgun with orange trim.

They can kill. A few years ago after the Boston Red Sox secured the American league pennant from the durned Yankee's, the fans took over the streets. Boston police officer Rochefort Milien shot Snelgrove shot at two girls who were just huddling and hiding in a stoop. Milien recklessly shot one of the girls with a blunt trauma / pepper spray projectile and hit her in the eye at close range and killed her. Several careers got destroyed and the department lost their donkeys in a multimillion dollar lawsuit.
Non Lethal can Kill.

Why would anyone want to join the force these days with this sort of garbage?

I'm all for alternative methods to stop an assailant, but, you remove one tool that I could use to stop the threat fast away from me and you can count me out.

Imagine making all your carpenters carry an all plastic hammer to hit nails which are very much made from the same material as always. Fuggedaboudit.

Good luck with someone jacked up on pcp etc.

Sure non lethal can kill. So can your bare hand. Then what, carry your hand in holster? :rules:
