Guns may be difficult to obtain legally in NY, but attempting mass murder is still very doable.

Witnesses said traveling at 100 mph and trying to hit people. Not terrorism related it's being reported.

Only difference between mass murder and terrorism is the motivation, so how exactly do they know it wasn't terrorism

The driver Richard Rojas is a U.S. citizen who previously served in the Navy, authorities said. The 26-year-old Bronx man had two prior arrests for driving while intoxicated, in 2008 and 2015...

Multiple witnesses told Fox News the vehicle was travelling against traffic and trying to enter a pedestrian section of Times Square.
The man has a past history of DWI, and was apparently driving the wrong way in traffic and then attempted to drive onto a pedestrian area.

My guess is that they are suspecting that he was under the influence and accidently went the wrong way on a one way RD, then tried to hurry to the next intersection so that he could turn off of the wrong way rd and ended up on a pedestrian rd instead... Tried to speed away but kept running people over until he crashed into a light post. Then he attempted to flee on foot and was tackled and restrained by citizens until the police arrived.

The driver wasn't drunk this is a deliberate slaughter of innocents.

Terrible horrific video.

From the video, it looks like people didn't have time to recognize the threat much less get out of the way.

You are correct. He was clearly AIMING to HIT people! No time to react for the majority of those innocent victims! :mad5

This is one of those videos which challenges typical situational awareness. I don't think I'd honestly be able to react if I were in the first 50 yds of this murderer's acceleration. Just the amount of time to hear the noise, turn your head, assess that yes a car was coming at you then to move quickly would be unlikely. Action beats reaction every time.
