Double Edged Knife

#1

Post by stroo »

By mistake, I bought a cheap knife at a gun show on Saturday. I thought it was single edged but didn't really read the package. If I had, I would have noticed that it was in fact a double edged knife and therefore illegal to carry in Texas as a dagger.

Question: If I grind off one edge practically converting the knife to a single edge, will that remove it from the category of a "dagger" and therefore make it legal in Texas?

Just wait until Sept 1st, and it will be legal!

I think it's already legal -- to have at your house -- just illegal to carry around...until September 1st, like Jusme said. Save the wear and tear on your grinder. ;-)

Thanks. I didn't realize the knife bill that passed this year allowed for double edged weapons. Good to know and saves me some work.

The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager
