:iagree:

I'm a Glock fan, and was depressed that anyone would spend that much money on a pistol like that.

Another " fun at the range " pistol is a model 27 with wad cutters . Almost intoxicating.

I might be the only person on this forum who will not trust his life to a 1911 (Flame Suit On) :mad5. I have had way too many reliability issues with them over the years.

No, you are not the only one. I am quite sure of that. Then again, there are those who would not feel safe with a Glock on their person either. :evil2:

:thumbs2: Back before my 27 was stolen it was my favorite range handgun. I have a 3-1/2" nickel plated TT/TH and grips vintage approx 1977 on layaway at a pawn shop. I'll report back when I get it.

I'm curious. I prefer drop safe guns. For that reason I like the Schwartz safety. It blocks the firing pin without involving the trigger. The Series 80 is icky, I agree there.

On the other hand, I don't like mechanisms that depend on light springs. Sig uses its share of hair springs and they don't seem to have trouble, so I may be second guessing the engineering.

There's no way to confirm the safety is engaged, that's another downside.

What don't you like about the Schwartz setup?

I don't get out enough. I didn't know anyone put an external extractor on a 1911. Mine (Colt and Kimber) are both internal extractors.

Take a look at Sig 1911s: https://www.sigsauer.com/products/firea ... ls/1911-1/

Top handguns to carry, Glock 43 and XD9. CZ75B on the nightstand for HD.
Most fun at the range would be my 10.5" barreled AR pistol. Hands down. Fireballs anyone?

My favorite handguns to shoot is a toss up of my S&W 686-1 with a 4” barrel or my S&W 66-3 with a 2 1/2” barrel.
