Person shot at Friendswood area shooting range

3:45 p.m. Update on shooting at Best Shot Range near #Friendswood. Harris County Sheriff's Office investigating. One person taken to Clear Lake Regional Medical Center trauma center with gunshot wound to neck.

Through a comment on i45NOW’s Story the gun range called the incident an “accident”.

Harris County investigators have not confirmed that statement but people are being held for questioning only.

In its statement the range owners said the business is closed as the investigation continues.

STATEMENT: “First and foremost, we ask for everyone's patience and prayers with regard to the accident that occurred at the Range today. All safety measures were taken. As an investigation is currently underway, we will not make a further statement on the matter until it is appropriate.

The Range is closed for business until further notice.

5:21 p.m. The Harris County Sheriff's Office Sgt on scene said it was a self inflicted gunshot wound that likely was accidental. The man who was wounded is believed to be in his 60s and was expected to survive. We have updated the text portion of the story.
