Appointments to federal judgeships, including Scotus, are lifetime appointments. I See nothing in the impeachment rules that would remotely suggest that just because the president was impeached and convicted any of those judges could just be removed. Each one would have to be impeached bt House and convicted by the Senate.

Alcee Hastings knows how that part works. It’s a blot that he was allowed to be elected to anything after being removed from his judgeship for bribery.

1. Pelosi holds on to the articles of impeachment up until the 2020 elections.
2. Trump loses (I sincerely hope not) and we end up with a switch in the senate
3. Senate convicts former president Trump
4. He is no longer president so cannot be removed from office
5. But since he is convicted would all of his appointees to the judicial branch be removed thus opening positions for an extremely left leaning judicial branch.

Again just doomsday scenerio here but could that be a possibility?
There are currently 53 republican, 45 democrat, and 2 independents who caucus with the democrats.
Of the 53 seats currently held by republicans, 23 are up for election this cycle.
This leaves 30 republicans who are 100% safe this election.
In order to convict, it requires 2/3 majority, or 67 votes (assuming my math is correct). Which means 34 votes against would defeat a conviction.
How likely do you think it is that the republicans lose 20 seats out of the 23 they have to run?
So...possible, yes
Likely, probably not?

Powerful Legacy: One in Four US Circuit Court Judges Are Now Trump Appointees
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson ... s-n2558417
Long after all the shouting over impeachment dies down -- and, indeed, long after he leaves office -- our politics will be shaped for a generation by President Trump's judicial appointments. His ongoing and powerful alliance with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, whose motto is 'leave no vacancy behind,' continues to pay consequential dividends for the many Republican voters who cited the federal courts as a top factor in their 2016 vote. After President Obama's eight-year tenure tilted the judiciary to the left, Trump and Senate Republicans have undertaken an aggressive and concerted effort to remake the third branch by stocking it with young, right-leaning judges. That relentless focus has paid off.
While Democrats fiddle...the federal courts are getting filled with judges who (hopefully) will be less likely to rubber stamp the leftist agenda.

Not much news on Trump so they are bashing his pardon of the Seal commander by getting the views of his men who turned him in.

NYT labels Iranian terrorist attackers of the US embassy in Iraq as "mourners".

Last decade the American Ambassador to Libya and three other American hero's were murdered by Libyans protesting an anti Islam video at our consulate while help was with held by Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and President Barack Obama.

In this case in Iraq, help was sent right away and no Americans were murdered and no American bodies were sexually assaulted and filmed being drug through the streets.

Interesting the difference.
